The 24Vdc Ventec FTA 600 is a folding arm actuator that is used for inward or outward opening doors. Depending on variant installed the actuator can allow daily access (constant) or only allow the door to be opened for smoke ventilation (fixed).It has a rectangular aluminium housing and a laterally positioned folding arm. When closed, the arm lies flat against the housing. It opens to a maximum angle 93° (determined by the distance between the pivot points of the folding arm and the hinges) but can be programmed (at the factory) to required opening angle. Opening speed is approximately 2° per second, therefore to fully open is about 45 seconds.

It has an inbuilt potential-free contact (VFC) which can been used to release a magnetic door retainer. They can also be programmed (at the factory) so that multiple drives can be synchronised to open together.
